EDITORIAL NOTE
About Selank Index
An independent editorial publisher of peer-reviewed research summaries. Not a clinic. Not a vendor. Not a prescription service.
About Selank Index
Selank Index is an independent editorial project that publishes summaries of the peer-reviewed research literature on Selank. We are not a clinic. We do not employ clinicians and we do not provide medical advice. We do not manufacture, sell, or distribute any product. Our work is editorial commentary on publicly available science.
The Selank research record spans approximately thirty years and originates primarily from Russian academic and state institutions — the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Zakusov Research Institute of Pharmacology are the primary publishing bodies. This site indexes those publications in English, with full citations linking directly to PubMed records.
Every quantitative claim on this site is cited. Dose figures represent study administration protocols in specific species by specific routes — they are not recommendations for human use. The word "store" in the domain name is editorial shorthand for an indexed archive — a store of research findings — not a commercial offer. No product is sold on this site, no purchase is possible, and no vendor relationship exists with any supplier.
Regulatory Status: Is Selank FDA Approved?
Selank is not FDA-approved for any indication. It is not on the FDA's list of bulk substances permitted for Section 503B compounding. It is not EMA-approved for any indication.
Selank was registered in Russia as a prescription anxiolytic and nootropic nasal spray in 2009 (registration certificate LS-000574). This constitutes regulatory approval in the Russian Federation. Outside Russia, Selank is classified as a research compound.
The absence of FDA or EMA approval reflects the limited Western clinical trial evidence — a single published human trial with 62 patients does not constitute the Phase 2/Phase 3 evidence package required for Western regulatory submission. It does not mean the research is fabricated or that preclinical findings are disputed; it means the regulatory pathway has not been pursued in Western markets.
Editorial Methodology
This index is built from studies indexed in PubMed. All PMIDs and DOIs are verified against PubMed records. No study is cited unless its abstract is accessible at the linked PubMed URL. Three studies in the citation set lack DOI in their PubMed records (PMIDs 18454096, 18661785, 19803361) and are cited by PMID and URL only — the absence of DOI reflects the publication record, not an error in this index.
Quantitative figures are drawn from study abstracts and, where accessible, full-text publications. Studies are summarized in the voice of the original finding — claim first, attribution after. No claim is invented; no citation is fabricated. For questions about specific citations, see the full references list.
Is Selank Approved as a Medication?
Selank has been registered in Russia as an anxiolytic medication (registration certificate LS-000574) for nasal administration. It is not approved by the FDA or EMA and is classified as a research compound outside Russia. The domain modifier "store" in selankstore.com is editorial framing — an indexed archive of research findings — and does not indicate that the site offers treatment, consultation, or prescription services. It does not.
